Follow Jesus 365 – Day 13 Devotional

FOLLOW JESUS 365

Year of Faith in Action

MORNING WATCH – DAY 13

THEME: God Has a Purpose for Every Life
KEY SCRIPTURE:
“The Lord works out everything to its proper end—even the wicked for a day of disaster.”
Proverbs 16:4 (New International Version)

ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURE REFERENCES

  1. Psalm 139:13-14
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
  2. Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
  3. 1 Corinthians 12:12-14
“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.”

QUOTATION FROM ELLEN G. WHITE

“Regardless of a person’s status, physical traits, or abilities—every being conceived by Him has a special place in His plan. God does not create anyone without meaning or purpose. Even persons with disabilities, children who struggle with learning, or those with unique gifts are given distinct roles to fulfill for their own good and the good of others.”
From The Desire of Ages

PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS

FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITY (PWD)

Every PWD has unique gifts and abilities given by God—do not let physical conditions limit the discovery and use of these gifts. Example: Deaf individuals may excel at storytelling through visual or movement-based mediums.
Advocate for opportunities to participate in community and church activities, as their perspective and contributions are vital to building the full “body of Christ.”

FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION (SPED) LEARNERS

Every SPED learner progresses and learns in their own way—God’s purpose for them is not tied to meeting others’ standards, but to sharing their gifts and love with those around them.
Teach skills that help them understand their worth and fulfill their role in the home and community.

FOR GIFTED CHILDREN OF GOD

The blessings God gives them are not just for personal success, but to help others. Example: A child skilled in math can support peers who struggle with the subject.
Teach them to respect the abilities of others, as every person is unique and essential to God’s plan.

MEDITATION PROMPT

Reflect now: What unique purpose has God prepared for you or for a loved one in one of the groups above? How can you help them discover and live out that purpose?
