Morning Watch Day 12 – God Can Use Any Situation

MORNING WATCH DAY 12

Theme: God Can Use Any Situation to Display His Love and Power (Jesus and the Blind Man)

CORE SCRIPTURE: John 9:1-3 (NKJV)

“Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, ‘Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?’ Jesus answered, ‘Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.'”

RELATED SCRIPTURES

1. Genesis 50:20 (NKJV)
“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”
This shows how God transforms difficult situations—like Joseph’s slavery—for His purpose and the benefit of others.
2. Jeremiah 18:6 (NKJV)
“O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!”
It illustrates that God shapes circumstances and people according to His will, even when we cannot see the plan.
3. Romans 8:28 (NKJV)
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
This affirms that God uses every situation—joyful or painful—to fulfill His loving plan for believers.

ELLEN G. WHITE QUOTATION

“Jesus answered the question the disciples put to him in a practical way… The disciples were not called upon to discuss the question of who had sinned or not sinned but to understand the power of God, his mercy and compassion, in giving sight to the blind. It was that all might be convinced that there was no healing virtue in the clay or in the pool wherein he was sent to wash, but that virtue was in Christ.”

SHORT REFLECTION

When the disciples saw the blind man, their focus was on blame and cause—but Jesus saw an opportunity to reveal God’s love and power. This truth reshapes how we view our lives and the world around us: no situation is ever “wasted” in God’s hands. Whether we face personal struggles, or encounter others in need, our perspective should shift from “why is this happening?” to “how can God work here?” As we walk through Follow Jesus 365: Year of Faith in Action, we’re called to trust that He is actively shaping every circumstance to display His goodness and draw people closer to Him.

PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS – FOLLOW JESUS 365: YEAR OF FAITH IN ACTION

1. Shift Your Perspective Daily
When you face difficulty or meet someone in need, pause and ask: “What work of God might be revealed here?” Replace complaint or judgment with a heart that looks for His love to shine through.
2. Reach Out to Someone in Need
Identify one person in your community (neighbor, colleague, or acquaintance) facing a challenge. Offer practical help—a meal, listening ear, or assistance—and share that God cares deeply about their situation.
3. Share Your Story
Recall a time God used hardship in your life for good. Share this with someone who may be struggling—your testimony can help them see His hand at work and strengthen their faith.
4. Pray Intentionally
For the next week, pray specifically for situations that seem “hopeless” (in your life or the world). Ask God to reveal His power and love through them, and to guide you in being part of His work.
