OPENING THOUGHT

As we step into 2026 and launch FOLLOW JESUS 365, we begin today with our first Morning Watch—a sacred practice of starting each day by seeking Jesus at the dawn of new possibilities. For H4J homes and the DCN300 faith family, this daily habit is the foundation of our year of faith and action: when we meet with Him first, He guides every step we take and every space we call home.

REFLECTION

Joshua made his commitment to serve the Lord not in haste, but with intentionality—rooted in remembering God’s faithfulness and choosing to follow Him from the start of each day. Today, on Morning Watch Day 1, we echo that choice: we wake to seek His presence before the busyness of life takes hold.

This year, FOLLOW JESUS 365 calls us to let our morning time with God shape everything else—our homes become places where His truth is lived out, where kindness is practiced, forgiveness flows, and needs are met. For H4J members and the DCN300 community, our Morning Watch is more than a quiet moment; it’s where faith is ignited and action is born. Together, we’ll turn what we learn in these early hours into tangible love for our families, neighbors, and the world.

APPLICATION FOR MORNING WATCH DAY 1 & 2026

  • Today’s Morning Watch: Find a quiet spot to meet with Jesus—even just 10 minutes. Read the scriptures above, then ask: “Lord, how do You want to lead my household and me this year?” Write down one word or thought He places on your heart.
  • Commit to the practice: Mark your calendar or set a reminder to keep the Morning Watch each day as part of FOLLOW JESUS 365. Share with your H4J household or DCN300 group that you’re joining this daily journey.
  • Turn watch into action: From today’s time with God, pick one small step to take—maybe send a note of encouragement to someone, tidy a space in your home to make it more welcoming, or pray for a neighbor by name.

CLOSING PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of this new year and for drawing us close in Morning Watch Day 1 of FOLLOW JESUS 365. Unite us as H4J homes and the DCN300 community—may our morning time with You strengthen our faith and fuel our action. Let every home we live in and every life we touch reflect Your love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
