The Last 40 Days of 2025 – Day 40

The Last 40 Days of 2025 Season of Prayer and Thanksgiving

Day 40 – The Final Day

Welcome, beloved family of H4J and DCN300!

Today, we conclude our “Last 40 Days of 2025 Season of Prayer and Thanksgiving,” reflecting on how gratitude and prayer shape our call to serve others.

Theme: Preparing with Gratitude – Anticipating and Welcoming Opportunities to Serve

Scripture Focus: Philemon 1:22 (NIV)

“And one thing more: Prepare a guest room for me, because I hope to be restored to you in answer to your prayers.”

Reflection

As we close this 40-day journey of prayer and thanksgiving, Paul’s request to prepare a guest room reminds us that our gratitude to God calls us to be ready for others. Prayer opens our hearts to see needs around us, while thanksgiving fuels our desire to create space for fellowship, ministry, and connection. Paul’s anticipation of future partnership challenges us to cultivate “prepared hospitality” – rooted in the prayers we’ve lifted and the blessings we’ve received this season.

Additional Scripture for Thanksgiving and Hospitality

  • Hebrews 13:2 (NIV): “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.”
  • 1 Peter 4:9 (NIV): “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.”
  • Colossians 3:15 (NIV): “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”
