Intro
Welcome to Day 44 of Transformation!
Greetings, beloved family of H4J and DCN300!
Today, we continue our journey, drawing inspiration from the 47 Days of Transformation, focusing on practical ways to live out our faith.
Theme: Expressing Thankfulness (December 28)
Today, we make a conscious effort to express our gratitude to God and to those who have blessed us in various ways. This aligns with our fundamental beliefs:
- Gratitude in Action: We believe that gratitude is not just a feeling, but an action that demonstrates our appreciation.
- Acknowledging Others: We take the time to recognize and thank those who have supported, encouraged, or helped us along the way.
- Honoring God: By expressing thankfulness, we honor God and acknowledge His provision in our lives.
Practical Application:
- Write a thank-you note to someone who has made a positive impact on your life.
- Verbally express your appreciation to a family member, friend, or colleague.
- Offer a prayer of gratitude to God, thanking Him for His blessings and guidance.
Let us continue this journey with hearts overflowing with thankfulness, expressing our appreciation to God and to those who have enriched our lives.
Welcome, and may this be a day of expressing thankfulness!
Devotional Reading
DAY 44: Yes, Brother, Let Me Have Joy from You in the Lord: Understanding How Our Actions Can Bring Joy to Others in the Faith Community
Theme: Joyful Obedience
Scripture: Philemon 1:20 (NIV) – “I do wish, brother, that I may have some benefit from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ.”
Reflection:
Paul expresses his desire to receive “joy from you in the Lord,” emphasizing that our actions and obedience can bring joy and encouragement to fellow believers. This challenges us to consider how our choices impact others within the faith community and to strive to live in a way that brings them joy and strengthens their faith. As we continue our 47-day journey, let’s reflect on how we can be a source of joy and encouragement within the H4J and DCN300 communities. Paul’s words inspire us to: “Strive to live in a way that brings joy and encouragement to your brothers and sisters in Christ!”
Additional Scripture:
- Philippians 2:1-4 (NIV): “Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
- 1 Thessalonians 3:9 (NIV): “How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?”
- 2 John 1:4 (NIV): “It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.”
Connecting with the 28 Fundamental Beliefs:
Our focus on “Let Me Have Joy from You in the Lord” aligns with several of the 28 Fundamental Beliefs. Specifically:
- Belief 12: The Church – The church is a community where members support and encourage one another, bringing joy and strength to the collective body.
- Belief 20: Christian Behavior – Living in accordance with Christian principles brings joy to fellow believers.

This devotional reading encourages us to understand how our actions can bring joy to others in the faith community. By living with integrity, being kind and compassionate, supporting and encouraging others, serving selflessly, and walking in truth, we can be a source of joy and encouragement to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Let’s commit to joyful obedience, following Paul’s example, and strengthening the H4J and DCN300 communities!
