Welcome to Day 38 of Transformation!

- Positive Thinking: We strive to cultivate positive thinking and avoid negative thought patterns.
Practical Application:
- Spend time in prayer and meditation, asking God to renew your mind.
- Read and study the Bible, filling your mind with truth and wisdom.
- Identify and challenge negative thought patterns, replacing them with positive and life-affirming thoughts.
Let us continue this journey with hearts committed to renewing our minds. May we be transformed by the power of God’s Word, living lives that are pleasing to Him.
Welcome, and may this be a day of renewing your mind!
Devotional Reading
DAY 38: Sending Him Back: Demonstrating Trust and Reconciliation by Releasing Others to Fulfill Their Purpose
Theme: Trusting Release
Scripture: Philemon 1:12 (NIV) – “I am sending him—who is my very heart—back to you.”
Reflection:
Paul’s willingness to send Onesimus back to Philemon, despite their past, showcases a profound act of trust and a commitment to reconciliation. This calls us to release others to fulfill their purpose, even when it requires letting go of our own desires or expectations. As we continue our 47-day journey, let’s reflect on how we can embody this spirit of trust and release within the H4J and DCN300 communities. Paul’s action emphasizes: “Demonstrate trust by releasing others to fulfill their God-given purpose, even when it requires sacrifice!”
Additional Scripture:
- Matthew 6:14-15 (NIV): “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
- Luke 6:37 (NIV): “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”
- 2 Corinthians 2:7-8 (NIV): “Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him.”
Connecting with the 28 Fundamental Beliefs:
Our focus on “Sending Him Back” aligns with several of the 28 Fundamental Beliefs. Specifically:
- Belief 10: The Experience of Salvation – Forgiveness and reconciliation are essential aspects of the salvation experience.
- Belief 12: The Church – The church is a community where members practice forgiveness and support one another’s growth.
Practical Application for H4J Community:
- Let Go of Grudges: Release any grudges or resentments you may be holding against others. Choose to forgive and to move forward.
Story: Sister Maria had been holding onto anger towards a friend who had betrayed her. She decided to forgive her and to rebuild their relationship.
- Trust in Transformation: Believe that people can change and grow. Give them the opportunity to prove themselves.
Story: Brother David gave a second chance to a young man who had made a mistake. He trusted that he had learned from his experience and would make better choices in the future.
- Empower Others: Empower others to use their gifts and talents to serve God. Support them in pursuing their dreams and goals.
Story: Homes for Jesus created a program to help people develop their skills and to find meaningful ways to serve the community.
- Release Control: Be willing to release control and to allow others to make their own decisions, even if you don’t agree with them.
Story: Sister Emily had a hard time letting go of control. She learned to trust that God was in control and that others were capable of making good decisions.
- Pray for Their Success: Pray for the success of others. Ask God to bless them, guide them, and protect them.
Story: Brother John made it a practice to pray daily for the success of his friends and colleagues.
This devotional reading encourages us to demonstrate trust and reconciliation by releasing others to fulfill their purpose. By letting go of grudges, trusting in transformation, empowering others, releasing control, and praying for their success, we can create a more loving and supportive community. Let’s commit to practicing trust and release, following Paul’s example, and strengthening the H4J and DCN300 communities!
