Day 11

Day 11 of Transformation

Welcome to Day 11 of Transformation!

Greetings, beloved family of H4J and DCN300!

Today, we continue our 47-day journey inspired by Paul’s letter to Philemon, seeking to deepen our relationship with God and strengthen our community.

Theme: Partnership in Faith (Philemon 1:17)

Today’s focus is on understanding that we are partners in the Gospel, called to support and encourage one another. This aligns with our fundamental beliefs:

  • Partnership: We are partners in ministry, working together to advance the Gospel.
  • Support: We are called to support one another through encouragement, prayer, and practical assistance.
  • Collaboration: We recognize the value of working together, leveraging our unique gifts and talents for a common purpose.

Practical Application:

  • Reflect on how you can better partner with others in your faith community.
  • Seek opportunities to offer support and encouragement to those around you.
  • Consider how you can collaborate with others to advance the Gospel in your community and beyond.

Let us continue this journey with hearts committed to partnership in faith. May we be strengthened and united as we work together to fulfill God’s purpose.

Welcome, and may this be a day of embracing our partnership in faith!

Devotional Reading

Day 11: Partnership in Faith

DAY 11: Partnership in Faith: Understanding That We Are Partners in the Gospel, Called to Support and Encourage One Another

Theme: Gospel Partnership

Scripture: Philemon 1:17 (NIV) – “So if you consider me a partner, welcome him as you would welcome me.”

Reflection:
Paul appeals to Philemon based on their partnership, emphasizing that they are united in the Gospel. This highlights the importance of recognizing that we are not alone in our faith journey but are called to support and encourage one another as partners in spreading the Good News. Paul’s message resonates: “We are partners in the Gospel, called to support and uplift each other!”

Additional Scripture:

  • Philippians 1:27 (NIV): “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel.”
  • 1 Corinthians 3:9 (NIV): “For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.”
  • 2 Corinthians 8:23 (NIV): “As for Titus, he is my partner and co-worker among you; as for our brothers, they are representatives of the churches and an honor to Christ.”

Connecting with the 28 Fundamental Beliefs:

Our focus on partnership in faith aligns with several of the 28 Fundamental Beliefs. Specifically:

  • Belief 12: The Church – Partnership is essential for the church to function effectively and fulfill its mission.
  • Belief 14: Unity in the Body of Christ – Recognizing our partnership in the Gospel promotes unity and collaboration.
  • Belief 20: Christian Behavior – Supporting and encouraging fellow believers is a key aspect of Christian behavior within our partnership.

Practical Application for H4J Community:

  • Identify Your Role in the Partnership: Reflect on your unique gifts, talents, and resources, and consider how you can use them to contribute to the Gospel partnership within the Homes for Jesus community.

Story: Sister Emily realized that she had a gift for hospitality. She began to use her home to host small group meetings and fellowship events, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for others.

  • Support Others in Their Roles: Look for ways to support and encourage others in their roles within the Gospel partnership. Offer your assistance, provide encouragement, and celebrate their successes.

Story: Brother David noticed that a member of his church was struggling to lead a ministry project. He offered to mentor him, providing guidance and support. This helped the member to overcome his challenges and successfully complete the project.

  • Collaborate on Ministry Projects: Seek opportunities to collaborate with others on ministry projects. Work together to identify needs, develop solutions, and implement strategies.

Story: Homes for Jesus partnered with a local organization to provide meals for the homeless. Members of the church volunteered their time, talents, and resources to make the project a success.

  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with your partners in the Gospel. Share your ideas, express your concerns, and work together to resolve conflicts.

Story: The leadership team at Homes for Jesus made a commitment to communicate openly and honestly with one another. This helped them to build trust, resolve conflicts, and work together more effectively.

  • Pray for Your Partners: Pray regularly for your partners in the Gospel. Ask God to bless their efforts, strengthen their faith, and protect them from harm.

Story: Sister Maria made it a practice to pray daily for the members of her small group. She asked God to bless their lives, strengthen their faith, and empower them to be effective witnesses for Christ.

This devotional reading encourages us to understand that we are partners in the Gospel, called to support and encourage one another. By identifying our roles, supporting others, collaborating on projects, communicating effectively, and praying for our partners, we can strengthen our partnership and make a greater impact for the Kingdom of God. Let’s commit to embracing our partnership in faith, following Paul’s example!
