MORNING WATCH | DAY 9
Date: January 9
THEME: Created as God’s Handiwork with a Purpose
For Persons With Disability (PWD), SPED Learners, and the Gifted Child of God in Every Home | Sparkle ATOMS Care Groups
🕊️ OPENING THOUGHT
When an artist creates a masterpiece, they shape every detail with care and intention—every brushstroke, color choice, and line has meaning. In the same way, you are God’s handiwork: carefully crafted by Him, uniquely designed, and created for a special purpose that only you can fulfill. This truth applies to every single person, no matter how you learn, what abilities you have, or what talents you possess. God did not make you by accident; He formed you with love, and He has good works prepared just for you to do.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
🙏 DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
The word “handiwork” means we are God’s masterpiece—made with great skill and care. This tells us two truths: we are valuable beyond measure, and God has planned good works for us to accomplish.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Psalm 139:13-14 (NIV)
God knows every part of you—your strengths, challenges, hopes, and heart. He formed you exactly as you are on purpose, and every part of your identity is part of His plan.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
Your purpose might be to listen to a friend, create something beautiful, pray faithfully, or teach others in a way only you can. Whatever it is, it matters to God and those around you.
✍️ QUOTATION FROM ELLEN G. WHITE
“God has created every human being for a purpose. He has endowed each with capacities that, when developed and used in harmony with His will, will enable him to do work that no other can do exactly as he can do it. Each is a part of the great whole, and each has his place to fill in the working out of God’s plan.”
The Ministry of Healing, p. 473
