DEVOTIONAL READING
Day 34 | The Last 40 Days of 2025: Season of Prayer and Thanksgiving
Greetings, beloved family in Christ! As we continue our journey through these final 40 days of 2025 in prayer and thanksgiving, today we draw inspiration from the example of Paul, who modeled what it means to willingly bear the burdens of others.
SCRIPTURE FOCUS
“If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to my account.”
ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURES
- Galatians 6:2 (NIV): “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
- Matthew 5:41 (NIV): “If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.”
- 1 John 3:16-18 (NIV): “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
REFLECTION
Paul’s bold offer to cover Onesimus’ debt to Philemon challenges us to consider how we can sacrificially support those around us—even when it costs us personally. This is rooted in the very heart of our faith: Christ’s sacrifice on the cross is the ultimate example of bearing the burdens of all humanity. As we give thanks for God’s goodness this season, let’s ask: How can I embody this spirit of sacrificial responsibility in my daily life?
Paul’s example inspires us to declare: “I am willing to bear the burdens of others, sacrificially offering my resources and support!”
