Day 26

Day 26 of Transformation

Welcome to Day 26 of Transformation!

Greetings, beloved family of H4J and DCN300!

Today, we continue our journey focusing on practical ways to live out our faith, drawing inspiration from various scriptures.

Theme: Working Hard and Diligently (Colossians 3:23-24)

Today’s focus is on approaching our work with dedication and excellence, as if working directly for God. This aligns with our fundamental beliefs:

  • Diligence: We believe in working hard and diligently in all that we do.
  • Excellence: We strive for excellence in our work, reflecting God’s character.
  • Purpose: We understand that our work has meaning and purpose as service to God.

Practical Application:

  • Approach your work today with a renewed sense of purpose and dedication.
  • Strive for excellence in all that you do, reflecting God’s character.
  • Remember that your work is a form of worship and service to God.

Let us continue this journey with hearts committed to working hard and diligently. May we be a reflection of God’s character in our work, bringing Him glory in all that we do.

Welcome, and may this be a day of working hard and diligently!

Devotional Reading

Day 26: Prayerfully Remembering Others

DAY 26: Prayerfully Remembering Others: Intentionally Including Others in Our Prayers

Theme: Intentional Intercession

Scripture: Philemon 1:4 (NIV) – “I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers…”

Reflection:
Paul’s practice of remembering Philemon in his prayers underscores the power of intentional intercession. This calls us to be deliberate in including others in our prayers, lifting their needs and concerns before God. As we continue our 47-day journey, let’s consider how we can be more intentional in praying for those within the H4J and DCN300 communities. Paul’s example inspires: “Be intentional in your prayers, lifting up the needs of others before God!”

Additional Scripture:

  • James 5:16 (NIV): “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
  • Ephesians 6:18 (NIV): “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NIV): “pray continually.”

Connecting with the 28 Fundamental Beliefs:

Our focus on prayerfully remembering others aligns with several of the 28 Fundamental Beliefs. Specifically:

  • Belief 16: Prayer – Prayer is a vital means of communicating with God and interceding for others.
  • Belief 12: The Church – Praying for fellow believers strengthens the church community.

Practical Application for H4J Community:

  • Create a Prayer List: Develop a list of individuals and specific needs that you want to remember in your prayers. This could include family members, friends, church leaders, missionaries, or those who are facing challenges.

Story: Sister Maria created a prayer journal where she recorded the names of people she wanted to pray for, along with their specific needs and concerns.

  • Set Aside Specific Prayer Time: Designate a specific time each day for prayer. Use this time to lift up the individuals on your prayer list, asking God to bless them, guide them, and provide for their needs.

Story: Brother David made it a practice to wake up early each morning to spend time in prayer. He used this time to pray for his family, his church, and his community.

  • Pray Spontaneously: Be open to praying spontaneously throughout the day as you are reminded of specific individuals or needs. Take a moment to lift them up to God in prayer.

Story: Sister Emily was driving to work when she heard a news report about a natural disaster. She immediately prayed for the victims and for the relief workers who were providing assistance.

  • Join a Prayer Group: Participate in a prayer group with other believers. Share your prayer requests and support one another in prayer.

Story: Homes for Jesus organized a prayer chain where members could submit their prayer requests and receive support from others. This helped to foster a culture of prayer and encouragement within the church.

  • Follow Up with Those You Pray For: Follow up with the individuals you have been praying for to see how they are doing and to offer encouragement and support.

Story: Brother John prayed for a friend who was struggling with a difficult illness. He followed up with him regularly to offer encouragement and to let him know that he was not alone.

This devotional reading encourages us to intentionally include others in our prayers. By creating a prayer list, setting aside specific prayer time, praying spontaneously, joining a prayer group, and following up with those we pray for, we can make a positive impact in their lives and experience the power of prayer. Let’s commit to prayerfully remembering others, following Paul’s example, and strengthening the H4J and DCN300 communities!
